Oronde Gadsden
Oronde Gadsden Career high in receptions
Sun, Oct 12, 2025, 4:13 PM
Gadsden caught seven of his eight targets for 68 yards in the 29-27 win over the Dolphins.
Analysis: Gadsden finally had his breakout game after seeing his snap count surge each of the last three weeks. The rookie was repeatedly a checkdown target for Justin Herbert with the offensive line in shambles, but Gadsden responded well and looked good after the catch as well. It's also worth noting Gadsden did this despite Will Dissly (knee) being active for the first time in three weeks, a sure sign the rookie has seemingly taken over as the team's starting tight end.
Hassan Haskins
Hassan Haskins Hardly used despite workload bump
Sun, Oct 12, 2025, 4:09 PM
Haskins carried the ball six times for 14 yards and caught his only target for nine yards in Sunday's 29-27 win over the Dolphins.
Analysis: Haskins was supposed to be part of a committee with Kimani Vidal replacing the injured Omarion Hampton (IR, ankle), but Vidal quickly proved to be the far more explosive back and ran away with the workload in the second half, finishing with 124 rushing yards and 14 receiving yards plus a touchdown. That's about as definitive of a difference as one could envision and likely means Haskins, who has primarily been a special-teams player during his time with the Chargers, could get squeezed out of platoon work after Vidal's amazing efforts. It's worth noting Miami's run defense is one of the worst in the league, and the Chargers could lean on the bruising Michigan product in short-yardage situations in future weeks.
Ladd McConkey
Ladd McConkey Catch-and-run crucial in win
Sun, Oct 12, 2025, 4:03 PM
McConkey caught seven of his nine targets for 100 yards and a touchdown in the 29-27 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.
Analysis: McConkey's 42-yard reception on the final possession with under a minute to go was the catalyst for the game-winning field goal just three plays later, but the second-year wideout benefitted significantly in the absence of Quentin Johnston (hamstring) by leading the team in receiving yards, targets and receptions for the first time this season. This kind of workload could be the status quo for the foreseeable future as Los Angeles struggles to deal with a litany of injuries, whether to rookie running back Omarion Hampton (ankle), Johnston or a bevy of injured offensive lineman.
Justin Herbert
Justin Herbert Sterling effort in win
Sun, Oct 12, 2025, 3:48 PM
Herbert completed 29 of his 38 pass attempts for 264 yards and two touchdowns in the 29-27 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.
Analysis: Despite being under duress for most of the game, Herbert was excellent moving around the pocket and extending time to create enough room to hit Ladd McConkey (7-100-1) on a number of crossing routes, while Oronde Gadsden had his biggest game of his young career as an underneath safety net. The emergence of Kimani Vidal as a legitimate piece of the rushing attack, albeit against a porous run defense, could do wonders to help Herbert steady the ship with multiple offensive lineman banged up with varying injuries.
Kimani Vidal
Kimani Vidal Emerges as lead back in win
Sun, Oct 12, 2025, 3:40 PM
Vidal carried the ball 18 times for 124 yards and also caught three of his four targets for 14 yards and a touchdown in the 29-27 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.
Analysis: Despite reports earlier this week Vidal and Hassan Haskins would be a part of a committee, the second-year back proved definitively he was the more explosive player by tallying 138 total yards on 21 touches to Haskins' 23 yards on seven opportunities. Omarion Hampton (ankle) is expected to be out at least a month, and while the Chargers have reportedly been sniffing around available options according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, Vidal's massive outing might quiet the trade calls for another week. It's worth noting Miami's run defense is one of the worst in the league, and it should be tougher sledding at home against the Colts next week.
Quentin Johnston
Quentin Johnston Sitting out Week 6
Sun, Oct 12, 2025, 10:40 AM
Johnston (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Analysis: Johnston took a questionable tag into the weekend after turning in limited practices Wednesday through Friday and was viewed as a game-time decision leading up to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, but the Chargers have ultimately chosen to hold out the ascending third-year wideout for the first time this season. In Johnston's absence, more target volume could be available for starting wideouts Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen, while rookie Tre' Harris and KeAndre Lambert-Smith could benefit from more playing time in three-receiver formations. Given that he seemed to close to playing Sunday before being made inactive, Johnston should have decent odds of returning to action Week 7 versus the Colts.
Hassan Haskins
Hassan Haskins Candidate to lead backfield Sunday
Sun, Oct 12, 2025, 9:49 AM
Haskins is expected to lead the Chargers backfield Sunday against the Dolphins, with Kimani Vidal also slated to mix in, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: That said, offensive coordinator Greg Roman told Kris Rhim of ESPN.com on Thursday that the Chargers weren't planning on leaning on a lead back in Week 6 with Omarion Hampton (ankle) landing on injured reserve. Instead, Roman noted that Haskins and Vidal are both "gonna be big factors in the game, how it's gonna unfold from snap count standpoint...can go a bunch of different ways in that regard." Even if Haskins draws the start, both backs should contribute versus Miami as the team adjusts to being without Hampton for at least four weeks, with Garafolo suggesting that the running back's absence could extend beyond that timeframe. Meanwhile, Garafolo indicates that it's also possible that the Chargers add backfield depth ahead of the Nov. 4 trade deadline. Either way, Haskins and Vidal both represent lineup options for fantasy managers who had been leaning on Hampton or are otherwise looking for backfield help this week.
Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton Likely to miss more than four games
Sun, Oct 12, 2025, 8:43 AM
Hampton, who was placed on injured reserve Wednesday due to a left ankle injury, isn't expected to be out for the season but is on track to be sidelined for more than the four-game minimum, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh didn't provide many details about the injury Hampton sustained in the Week 5 loss to the Commanders, but the fact that the promising rookie is expected to need more than four weeks to make a full recovery points to him likely nursing a high-ankle sprain. A target date for Hampton's return has yet to be established, but because the Chargers have a bye coming up in Week 12, the team could be motivated to hold him out through that period to give him ample time to heal. Garafolo notes that Hassan Haskins is likely to serve as the Chargers' lead back Sunday in Miami while practice-squad signee Kimani Vidal also sees work, but Los Angeles is also expected to be in the market for a running back ahead of the Nov. 4 trade deadline to compensate for the long-term injuries to Hampton and Najee Harris (Achilles).
Quentin Johnston
Quentin Johnston Trending down for Week 6
Sat, Oct 11, 2025, 9:54 PM
Johnston (hamstring), who is questionable to play against Miami on Sunday, is trending toward missing the matchup, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Johnston's hamstring injury held him to a trio of limited practices this week. Though there was hope that he'd be able to take the field against the Dolphins, his status is very much in question, with Ian Rapoport of NFL Network noting that Johnston is a game-time decision but that the Chargers will likely hold him out "if there is a chance of re-injury." With that said, Johnston's official status may not be announced until about 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 PM ET kickoff. Should Johnston indeed need to sit out Sunday's contest, Tre' Harris could be asked to step up as the Chargers' No. 3 wideout.
Nyheim Hines
Nyheim Hines Elevated by Bolts for Week 6
Sat, Oct 11, 2025, 6:58 PM
The Chargers elevated Hines from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Hines joined the Chargers' practice squad Tuesday, and his addition gives the team much-needed depth at running back after Omarion Hampton (ankle) was placed on injured reserve. Hines will likely be active against the Dolphins on Sunday, and if he plays, it will mark his first regular-season action since 2022, when he appeared in 16 games between the Bills (nine) and the Colts (seven). Hines could serve in a return role on kickoffs and punts but might also see work out of the backfield behind Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal.
Derius Davis
Derius Davis Remains sidelined against Miami
Fri, Oct 10, 2025, 2:13 PM
Davis (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Analysis: Davis will miss a third consecutive game. His next chance to suit up will come Week 7 against the Colts. KeAndre Lambert-Smith and Ladd McConkey will likely continue to fill in on kickoff returns and punt returns, respectively.
Quentin Johnston
Quentin Johnston Status in question for Sunday
Fri, Oct 10, 2025, 1:47 PM
Johnston (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Miami.
Analysis: Johnston practiced in a limited fashion both Wednesday and Thursday due to a hamstring injury, and so far he hasn't done enough to gain clearance for Week 6 action. His status will be clarified about 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 kickoff, and if he's active he'll be looking to build upon the 26-377-4 line on 40 targets that he's racked up through five contests this season.
Quentin Johnston
Quentin Johnston Another limited practice
Thu, Oct 9, 2025, 5:55 PM
Johnston (hamstring) remained limited at practice Thursday.
Analysis: Johnston was also limited Wednesday, so he'll probably need to work fully Friday in order to approach Sunday's game against the Dolphins without an injury designation. In five games to date, Johnston has caught 26 of 41 targets for a team-high 377 receiving yards and four TDs, a pace that has the 2023 first-rounder firmly on the fantasy lineup radar ahead of Week 6 action.
Kimani Vidal
Kimani Vidal Part of committee with Haskins
Thu, Oct 9, 2025, 2:29 PM
Offensive coordinator Greg Roman said Thursday that Vidal and Hassan Haskins will both factor in significantly Sunday against the Dolphins, but neither is viewed as the clear lead back, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Vidal was signed to the active roster Wednesday off the Chargers' practice squad, taking the roster spot that the team cleared by placing Omarion Hampton (ankle) on IR. Haskins and Vidal each played 14 snaps on offense in the Chargers' 27-10 Week 5 loss to Commanders, during which Hampton was injured. It sounds like both healthy running backs will have opportunities to capitalize on Sunday's favorable matchup against a Dolphins defense that has allowed the most rushing yards in the NFL this season. Amar Johnson and/or Nyheim Hines could also factor into the backfield mix if elevated from the practice squad.
Hassan Haskins
Hassan Haskins Set to split with Vidal
Thu, Oct 9, 2025, 2:24 PM
Offensive coordinator Greg Roman said Thursday that Haskins and Kimani Vidal will both factor in significantly Sunday against the Dolphins, but neither is viewed as the clear lead back, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Haskins and Vidal are next in line for backfield touches after Omarion Hampton (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, ensuring Hampton will miss at least four games. Haskins and Vidal played 14 snaps each on offense in the Chargers' 27-10 Week 5 loss to Commanders, during which Hampton got hurt. The Chargers will likely ride the hot hand at running back Sunday in a rotation that could also include Amar Johnson or Nyheim Hines if either are elevated from the practice squad against a Dolphins defense that has allowed the most rushing yards in the league this season.
Derius Davis
Derius Davis Doesn't practice Wednesday
Wed, Oct 8, 2025, 7:06 PM
Davis (knee) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: A knee injury has prevented Davis from playing in the Chargers' last two games, which has resulted in Tarheeb Still and KeAndre Lambert-Smith taking over as returners on punts and kickoffs. Davis would have to return to practice in at least a limited capacity over the next two days in order to have a chance at playing against the Dolphins on Sunday.
Will Dissly
Will Dissly Cleared from injury report
Wed, Oct 8, 2025, 5:51 PM
Dissly (knee) isn't listed on the Chargers' Week 6 injury report.
Analysis: Dissly is thus set to return for Sunday's game at Miami, after missing each of the past three contests. Rookie tight end Oronde Gadsden took advantage initially, but he saw just one target in the Week 5 loss to Washington despite handling season-high 61 percent route share. That number likely will drop with Dissly back in the lineup, although it's also possible Dissly mostly takes the snaps that went to Tyler Conkin and Tucker Fisk in recent weeks. Either way, it'll be some form of rotation, with long odds for any one TE to draw more than a handful of targets.
Quentin Johnston
Quentin Johnston Limited practice Wednesday
Wed, Oct 8, 2025, 5:51 PM
Johnston (hamstring) was limited at practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Johnston logged an 82 percent snap share in this past Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Commanders, while catching all four of his targets for 40 yards and carrying once for nine yards. It's unclear whether the wideout -- who lost a fumble in the contest -- is dealing with an issue coming out of Week 5 action or if his hamstring injury occurred during Wednesday's practice. Look for added context in that regard to arrive no later than Thursday, once the Chargers' next practice report is posted.
Kimani Vidal
Kimani Vidal Signed to roster
Wed, Oct 8, 2025, 1:39 PM
The Chargers signed Vidal to their active roster Wednesday.
Analysis: He'll take the place of Omarion Hampton, who was placed on injured reserve after suffering an ankle injury late in the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the Commanders. Vidal and Hassan Haskins formed a near 50/50 split on the next drive, with Vidal then taking over on the final series once Justin Herbert and other starters had been pulled. Vidal was a practice-squad promotion for Weeks 4 and 5 -- after Najee Harris suffered a season-ending injury -- but will now reside on the active roster and have a role in the Week 6 game plan against a struggling Miami defense.
Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton Placed on IR
Wed, Oct 8, 2025, 1:34 PM
The Chargers placed Hampton (ankle) on injured reserve Wednesday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: With Hampton out for at least four games, the Chargers are signing Kimani Vidal to their active roster and Nyheim Miller-Hines to the practice squad. Vidal and Hassan Haskins split backfield snaps after Hampton's early exit from a loss to the Commanders this past Sunday.
